The RechbergrennenOrganizing Committee thinks and acts sustainably!
After the tree seedling distribution campaign carried out in March 2024 together with the municipalities of Fladnitz an der Teichalm and Semriach
, the organizing committee of the
Rechbergrennen is setting another milestone for sustainability:
In cooperation with the German-based energy supplier NORDOEL (E-Fuels for the Future | NORDOEL),
the vehicles of the race management, the track safety officer and the
advance vehicles will run on renewable fuels from 2025.
NORDOEL produces synthetic petrol as part of the research project
DeCarTrans, which is funded by the German government. The fuel consists of sustainably
produced methanol and therefore has up to 99% renewable components.
This reduces new CO2 emissions – directly, sustainably and forward-looking.
These fuels are used by the BMW MOTORRAD Motorsport Team in the
WorldSBK, among others, and in 2024 the world championship title was won with fuels from NORDOEL.
In addition, NORDOEL has been successfully participating in the ADAC 24h race at
the Nürburgring with regenerative fuels in the AT class since 2022.
The Austrian Mountain Grand Prix thus confirms
‘s leading role in Europe in terms of sustainability.
