Karting and formula racing
Ellen Lohr began her motorsport career in karting in 1980. She then switched to formula racing and drove from 1985 to 1987 in the German Formula Fordin which she won the championship title in 1987.
Touring car and GT sport
Her greatest racing success in the series came in 1992 when she won the first round at the Hockenheimring. This makes her the first and so far only woman to win a race in the DTM.
Truck Racing
After the DTM or ITC was discontinued at the end of the 1996 season, Lohr entered the European Truck Racing Championship (ETRC) for two years. There she started in 1997 and 1998 with Mercedes racing trunks.
Offroad and rally sport
Ellen Lohr competed in national and international rally raid competitions from 2004 to 2011 – most recently with Mercedes-Benz off-road vehicles.
She competed in the Dakar Rally from 2005 to 2007.
In the German Rally Championship (DRM), she drove a Subaru Impreza WRX STi for Team Wallenwein Rallye Sport in 2008.
Now she is known for the great speeches she gives as a key note speaker on motorsports, team building, communication and women in motorsports all over the world.
As brand ambassador she is on the road for the touring car legends and as press officer she looks after the German market for the Dakar Rally and the China Rally.
At the Rechberg, Ellen is very happy to be available for autographs and selfies and is looking forward to the race and the fans alike.
